Leading the way in construction skills!

Watkin Jones Group has scooped one of the top prizes in the prestigious ConstructionSkills Wales ‘Building on Success’ awards! A delighted Managing Director Mark Watkin Jones accepted the Leadership Award, which recognises a company’s commitment to developing their employees, business and the Welsh construction industry as a whole.
The awards ceremony took place on Friday, 29 February at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport and was hosted by television presenters Lucy and Rhodri Owen. Keynote speeches were made by author Steve McDermott, motivational speaker of the year 2007 and the First Minister for Wales, Rhodri Morgan AM.
Watkin Jones were also shortlisted for the People Development Award, which recognises commitment to the development and training of all company staff.
ConstructionSkills Wales Director, Wyn Prichard, commented: “The construction industry in Wales is currently booming with new projects worth an estimated £14.6 billion planned until the end of 2012. The ‘Built on Success’ Awards allow us to celebrate and recognise those individuals and organisations that are responsible for the many outstanding projects taking place around the country.”
As the Sector Skills Council for construction, ConstructionSkills works towards delivering a safer, more professional and fully qualified construction workforce in Wales. And once again, Watkin Jones are leading the way – building a brighter, better future for the construction industry in Wales.
