About the role

As a Site Manager, you’ll be working alongside the Project Manager monitoring the working programme, managing subcontractors and working closely with the Quantity Surveyors. You’ll also be arranging and attending weekly meetings on site to reporting information to the Project Manager.

What you’ll be doing

Based on site, working as part of a team you’ll be responsible for managing the works on site to ensure the project is completed safely, profitably and on time. The Site Manager will communicate with the sub-contractors ensuring project requirements are met, review site wastage, and review and manage H&S procedures.

Who we’re looking for

Ideally you will have experience of working at a Site Manager level, with strong time management skills, and strong negotiation skills. The role is working for our Student Accommodation Division so experience of large, high rise projects is advantageous.

Title Plant Controller

Job Information

Our Bangor office is now looking for a Plant Controller to authorise and process plant requisitions and place orders for hired plant and purchases. Dealing with enquires from site based staff, you will keep an accurate record of all plant requisitions and prepare plant reports for the weekly P&L meeting. The Plant Controller will also manage the Wagon Driver, Storeman and their workload and process their weekly time sheets.

About You

This role demands a highly organised individual who has excellent working knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel. You will also have good negotiation skills and time management skills.

Title Assistant Quantity Surveyor

About the role

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with their duties as well as undertaking your own minor contracts. Learning as you go we would look to develop you on a path that was right for you and at a pace right for you.

What you’ll be doing

Your working week will involve spending three days on site, liaising with sub-contractors and measuring materials and quantities by analysing drawings, with the remaining two days a week being spent in the office, where you’ll work on preparing subcontract orders for approval by the Senior QS as well as preparing subcontract payments with current contracts and final accounts.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking an ambitious, proactive, positive person who enjoys problem solving and is happy to work UK wide. Ideally you will have 1 to 2 years hands on experience working as a Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor and have a passion for this field of work.

About the role

As a Design Manager, you will be managing the design process from inception to completion of the works, ensuring that the design meets the employer’s criteria, that the design is coordinated and delivered to meet the time and budgetary constraints of the design and the construction process giving due regard to cost in use and life cycle costing and buildability issues.

What you’ll be doing

Based from our Preston Brook offices, with travel to site when required you’ll be involved with reviewing design proposals from internal and external consultants ensuring the most competitive and effective solution is arrived at, while supporting the Procurement Department in evaluation of alternative design solutions offered by subcontractors. You’ll also be reviewing payments with the commercial team to ensure that payments to consultants are done correctly reflect the work undertaken or reports or design information has been produced in line with the payment schedules.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Design Manager who is comfortable to work off their own initiative with experience of working on high rise, mixed use developments. Candidates will require a knowledge of AutoCAD design software and Adobe Acrobat with strong time management and communication skills.

The role involves travel nationwide travel including overnight stays.

Title Assistant Design Manager

About the role

As an Assistant Design Manager you’ll be assisting with design information and design philosophy for new build Student Accommodation. Reviewing the technical aspects of details put forward by architects and engineers and co-ordinating changes with the Design team (including Structural Engineers, architects and external subcontractors) ensuring best value.

What you’ll be doing

Based from our St. Asaph Offices, with travel to site when required you’ll be responsible for registering drawings on the Group’s information system, approving drawings, and producing drawings via the AutoCAD drawing system.

You also be involved in attending Design team meetings on site to co-ordinate the building process when required.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who would like a career in Design Management who has a passion to succeed. The ideal candidate will have experience of the Design Management process, knowledge of Building Regulations with a basic knowledge of AutoCAD drawing systems. About the role

Based from the St. Asaph offices, with regular travel to the Watkin Jones developments across the UK, this is a hands-on role where you’ll be creating a positive Health and Safety culture at all levels throughout the Group.

What you’ll be doing

As a H&S Advisor you’ll assist and advise management at all levels with the preparation, implementation and where necessary, review of the health and safety policy as well as supporting colleagues at all levels in their efforts to improve health, safety and environmental performance and set a good personal example. The role involves being on site carrying out as necessary periodic inspections and investigations of the company’s activities and report to the contract and line management any apparent breaches of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation, company policy or company procedures.
