In December work commenced at Byrom Street in Liverpool. This mixed-use scheme will provide an additional 398 student beds in the City, together with 361 sqm of ground floor retail space.
As our site is located directly opposite Liverpool John Moore’s University, we were keen to get them on board and met with them in December to discuss how we would be able to incorporate our construction activities into their syllabus. Some great ideas were put forward and we have a number of exciting activities planned over the course of this year.
To kick start the initiative, our Health and Safety team visited LJMU last week to conduct a Health, Safety and Environmental presentation. More than 60 individuals turned up, not only students, but lecturers too!
They discussed a wide range of topics, including HSE statistics, SAR reports, our in-house card system, PPE, working at height any many many more. They even got the students involved in a group task focussing on RAMS (Risk Analysis and Management Systems).
Feedback received was extremely positive and we’re looking forward to engaging with LJMU again in the next few weeks.
