Work has started at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh and includes the construction of a new build 450 bed student residence. Split into 3 blocks, the scheme comprises 15 studios & 435 cluster beds, all with en-suite bathrooms.
To celebrate the start of the project, a Groundbreaking Ceremony was recently held on site and was performed by Heriot Watt Principal Professor Steve Chapman. He said: “Watkin Jones were successful due to their track record, the quality of their bid and the efficiency of their cost and delivery model. Watkin Jones have also used their expertise and previous experience to add value to the quality of design, most significantly to the room design which is obviously important to our customers – the students.” A brief speech by Group Managing Director, Mark Watkin Jones, then followed.
Once the ceremonial photographs had been taken, guests were invited to view our completed showflat and enjoy a hot beverage and a bacon roll.
Thank you to everyone who attended.
