Due to expanding workload we are now seeking to appoint an Assistant Design Manager to join our Newmark Division based in Runcorn. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company who create cutting edge contemporary and classically stylish places for work, home and leisure at prestigious locations nationwide.

Main Responsibilities:              The following tasks are not in priority order

  1. To attend internal and external meetings including chairing and accurately minute as necessary ensuring distribution to relevant parties.
  2. Review design and to accord with the business objectives and for accordance with statutory legislation.
  3. Review & assist the coordination of design proposals from internal and external consultants ensuring most competitive and effective solution arrived at.
  4. Obtain quotations for and evaluate prior to appointing for supporting consultants and for reports to support planning applications
  5. Support Procurement Department in evaluation of alternative design solutions offered by subcontractors.
  6. Research and develop new products for alternative forms of construction.
  7. Monitor Health & Safety issues within the design process.
  8. File received design information and collate for preparation of documentation to outside parties.
  9. Other relevant tasks as required.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Requiring education/ qualification to a level of NVQ 5/ Professional qualification or equivalent qualifications.
  • Good knowledge of Building Regulations
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD design software course and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Working towards or possessing Chartered Status in Construction
  • Driving Licence is essential
