Careers At Watkin Jones
Apprenticeship Scheme
The Watkin Jones Group Apprenticeship Scheme offers an excellent grounding in basic skills, helping the apprentice to develop their abilities and boost their confidence.
Apprenticeships are available in the following areas:
- Bricklaying
- Joinery
- Technical
- Electrical
- Plant Mechanics
Our apprentices work towards a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship or Modern Apprentice Framework. They are trained and assessed in the workplace and attend college for one to three days a week to develop their theory work and the key skills of numeracy, literacy and communication.
To gain their qualifications, apprentices compile a portfolio of written evidence which proves that they have developed the necessary skills and understanding of the work they are carrying out.
Watkin Jones Group apprentices are supported and guided at every stage to help them become established tradespeople. They will have the opportunity to progress within the company – several of our former apprentices have already progressed to management level.
