Our History

Today Watkin Jones is one of the UK’s most successful construction and development companies.

Founded in 1791 by carpenter, Huw Jones, the company prospered as he turned from carpentry to construction and set the business on a new path. Since then successive generations of the Watkin Jones family have developed the Group to its leading position in the UK’s building, property development and construction industries. We are proud of our Welsh roots and remain fully committed to raising standards, supporting local communities and assisting young people to develop skills and experience.

Now led by Mark Watkin Jones, as Chief Operating Officer, we are proud of our progressive and innovative reputation. We continue to build for today, and for the future, exactly as we have done for more than 200 years.
